FAQ

Q: How do I start placing business with Northwest?
A: You may immediately submit applications for placement of policies with Northwest. See the instructions for the various products available in your state by selecting that Product from your state menu. While you are submitting business to us, you need to sign the appropriate contract. See "Sign Up" section under Help. The forms can be printed off the website. Please follow the instructions found there.

Q: Is it necessary to submit loss runs for a quote?
A: Generally yes. In many cases, Northwest requires loss runs for a quote. Any exceptions are identified in your state product instructions.

Q: You are shopping around for competitive quotes for your customers. Can you get a simple indication prior to sending in all the required paperwork for a formal quote?
A: In many cases you can get an indication. Please see your state by state product instructions for information.

Q: Do I have to be signed up with Northwest to get a quote?
A: No. We will contract you and get all appropriate paperwork prior to binding your first account. In the meantime, feel free to forward submissions to us.

Q: What coverages does Northwest provide?
A: We provide a wide array of products. Please see your state by state product descriptions for coverages that are available in your area.

Q: How long does it take to get a quote?
A: Different carriers have different requirements to provide a quote. The size and complexity of the account can also determine how long it will take. In addition, sometimes Northwest quotes the policies right here in our own office which speeds up the process. Generally, the quoting process will take anywhere from an immediate quote to several days.

Q: What commission does Northwest pay on the coverages offered?
A: The commission rate offered depends on the program.
