Northwest Insurance Agency established the Commercial Earthquake program in 1998. The program was designed to supplement current earthquake products, by providing coverage for risks that do not meet the current profile. In keeping with Program philosophy, the earthquake product will allow agents to write and retain commercial business within their community. The Northwest earthquake program provides coverage for virtually any type of commercial building, including apartment buildings that contain five or more units.
Commercial Earthquake coverage is written on a DIC (Difference
in Conditions) form and has an annual renewal. Deductibles
range from 5% to 20% depending on the individual carrier
and the characteristics of the risks. Premium is calculated
based on the location of the building, age of the
building, type of construction and the parking configuration.
Northwest Insurance Agency currently provides agents
with an array of competitive and financially stable
commercial earthquake markets. This specialty market
can change quickly as conditions arise and losses
occur. Northwest is committed to monitoring the market and
providing agents with the most competitive
products in the industry.
